Yes, it hailed on Sunday … a lot! It looked like snow, but it was indeed hail, with thunder and lightening accompanying it.
The storm that brought the hail to Oakland and other East Bay cities eventually made its way to the North and South Bay areas as well. People from various Bay Area neighborhoods took to social media to post videos and photos of the thick layers of hail covering everything. As you can see, Mother Nature was busy!
NBC Bay Area meteorologist Rob Mayeda said the storm was a slow-moving cell, which allowed for the significant hail accumulations.
