Alfonso Ribeiro Sues Creators of Fortnite Over Dance Moves

Alfonso is the latest person to sue the creators of the popular Fortnite game for using his dance move. Alfonso recently filed a suit against Epic Games, claiming that they ripped off the famous ‘Carlton’ dance move. As everyone most likely knows, the ‘Carlton dance’ was done by Alfonso’s character Carlton on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air sitcom. You can’t think about Alfonso Ribeiro without picturing him doing that dance! It’s just not possible!

This lawsuit is very similar to the one that rapper 2 Milly filed earlier this month for copying his ‘Milly Rock’ dance.

There is no denying how spot-on the dances are. The dance moves are exact duplicates.  There are other Fortnite characters that copy Snoop Dogg and Will Smith dance moves as well.

Although the U.S. Copyright Office says it cannot register short dance routines consisting of only a few movements or steps, one of 2 Milly’s lawyers said previously that there is protection for ‘choreographic works’. It will be interesting to see how this all turns out.

You can compare the two dance moves below:
