Stevie Wonder announced earlier this week that he would be raising money for the fire victims through his benefit concert. The 22nd annual House Full of Toys Benefit Concert will be in LA at the Staples Center on December 9th and the charity is billed as “The Stevie Wonder Song Party: A Celebration of Life, Love & Music“.
Concertgoers have been asked to bring an unwrapped toy (or other gift).
Thousands of people have been displaced from their homes and approximately 90 people died during the massive fires. Stevie Wonder said that his House Full of Hope foundation along with the Entertainment Industry Foundation, will help raise money.
“We have to do our best to raise money for those that have been so less fortunate, for those that have lost dreams, lost their homes”, said Stevie. He went on to say that he is “very happy to do this again this year but very, very, very excited to do something to help those in a bigger sense the less fortunate.”
The lineup for the charity has not been announced yet but last year’s performers included Andra Day, Pharrell Williams and Tony Bennett.
We give a big ‘Thank You’ to Stevie!
